Celebrate the vibrant spirit and timeless wisdom of older adults in our inaugural photo contest. We invite you to showcase the beauty, strength and stories of these remarkable individuals through the lens of your camera. From their life experiences to their everyday adventures, your photos will be a testament to the richness of their journeys.

All submitted images must prominently feature older adults as the main subjects or highlight their activities, achievements, or unique perspectives. Each participant may submit up to 3 images. Submit your JPEG, PNG, or TIFF file(s) via email to: [email protected] by 5pm on September 8th, 2023. 

Finalists will be displayed and winners announced at this year's Celebration of Dignity & Hope (our annual gala) on September 21st. 

Winners will be notified and prize arrangements will be handled by email on September 22nd. 

OFFICIAL RULES: 
1. Theme:
The theme of the photo contest is "Celebrating Older Adults." All submitted images must prominently feature older adults as the main subjects or highlight their activities, achievements, or unique perspectives.

2. Eligibility: The contest is open to participants of all ages and backgrounds. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate.

3. Image Requirements: a. Content: All submitted photos must adhere to the theme and prominently feature older adults. The focus should be on celebrating their lives, experiences, and contributions. b. Authenticity: Photos should represent genuine moments and capture the essence of older adults' lives with honesty and respect. c. Consent: It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain consent from any individuals featured in the photographs. By submitting an image, the participant confirms that they have obtained the necessary permissions.

4. Submission Guidelines: a. Format: Images must be submitted in digital format. Accepted file formats include JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. b. Resolution: Photos should be of high resolution, with a minimum of 3000 pixels on the longest side. c. Number of Entries: Each participant may submit a maximum of three (3) photographs. d. Originality: Photos must be original works created by the participant. No plagiarism or copyright infringement is allowed.

5. Judging Criteria: a. Relevance: Photos will be evaluated based on how well they align with the theme of celebrating older adults. b. Composition: Judges will consider the overall visual composition, including the use of light, color, framing, and perspective. c. Emotional Impact: Photos that evoke emotions, convey stories, or capture the spirit of older adults will receive higher scores. d. Technical Quality: Attention will be given to factors such as focus, clarity, exposure, and post-processing techniques.

6. Copyright and Usage: a. Ownership: Participants retain the rights to their submitted photographs. However, by entering the contest, participants grant the Baldwin Society a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, and display the images for promotional and educational purposes. b. Attribution: The Baldwin Society will credit photographers whenever their images are used.

7. Entry Deadline: The deadline for submissions is by 5pm on September 8th, 2023. Late entries will not be accepted.

8. Winners and Prizes: a. Selection: Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by the Baldwin Society. b. Prizes: The contest may offer prizes such as cash awards, photography equipment, certificates of recognition, or other rewards. The details of the prizes will be announced separately.

9. Disqualification: a. Inappropriate Content: Photos depicting explicit or offensive material will be disqualified. b. Non-Compliance: Failure to adhere to the rules and guidelines outlined in this document may result in disqualification.

10. Contest Promotion: The Baldwin Society reserves the right to feature and promote the submitted images on its website, social media platforms, newsletters, or other relevant channels to showcase the contest and the participants' work.
